Go toward the Feel Goods

Nov 05, 2021

I'm sat here listening to this chat on Clubhouse. Which, honestly, I haven't been on since the beginning of 2021 when it was all the rage so was a bit bizarre to find myself there this afternoon.

Isn't that the amazing part about it though? That the magic finds us wherever we are.

Today the magic found me in Clubhouse.

My wonderful soul-sister, Janice Noehulani, was spitting some bars on following the nudges of the very next step and the importance of re-embracing selfishness. The conversation in the room opened up a new paradigm for me.

Selfish.
But not like you know it.
Not the gimme-gimme, shove the weak aside to get it kind of selfish. A selfish reimagined.

Selfish.
As in what actually feels good to you?
The inquiry into curiosity, acceptance and full self-expression kind of selfish.

Can we drop the addiction to quantifying success (re: happiness) by dollars, to-do lists and achievements? Let's do it. Let's drop it. Cause it's such bullshit. And it doesn't feel good. At least not to me.

I'm collapsing issues here, classic Amanda! So let me cut to the heart of what I'm saying:

How cool would it be if we followed the feel-good breadcrumbs sprinkled all over our day to day lives? To give in to the things that interest us, light us up, that we wonder about constantly? My soul right now is screaming "me please, sign me up for a week of doing that!"  Haha

And here is my general thesis:
Allow yourself to be led by what feels good.
